AFRICORP CONSORTIUM imposed itself as a benchmark player and occupies a prominent place in the Moroccan and continental economy. Solidly established in Industry & Distribution for more than 45 years, in particular with its subsidiary Dolidol, which today has 7 production units in 5 African countries, AFRICORP Consortium has succeeded in its policy of sectoral and geographical diversification. This policy consists in the continuous development of its various areas of activity on the continent.

To support its diversification policy and its development plan, AFRICORP CONSORTIUM is accompanied by several renowned financial institutions such as SFI (World Bank), Proparco, the EBRD, the English PE fund DPI, the South African fund Oppenheimer, the Singaporean sovereign wealth fund Temasek, as well as other key institutional players.

With this in mind, the Group has defined 4 axes for its development with the aim of sustaining its activities. First, innovation in the Group’s products and services, with a constant search for added value for customers; the development of human capital with a strengthening of their skills in all the Group’s business lines; increased investment, particularly in areas identified as sectors of the future; and finally, internationalization to seize opportunities for the development and sustainability of the Group.

A recognized historic know-how

1972 :

Creation of Uniconfort Maroc Dolidol. Venturing into the industrial sector, particularly industrial production of polyurethane foam and bedding, marking the first major shift of Bgroup.

1977 :

In the same vein, Dolidol incorporated the production of spring mattresses, in addition to the first products launched five years earlier. As such, Dolidol became the generic mattress name according to Moroccan popular knowledge.

2008 :

Dolidol pursued its development with a major industrial site allowing it to substantially expand its production capacity. Built across 25ha, this new industrial site located in Dar Bouazza (Casablanca) is home to the brand’s head office and its product lines.

2013 :

Creation of Palmagri, Palmeraie Industries & Services’ agricultural division. To pursue its development, the new subsidiary boasts a major land reserve of almost 3,000 hectares and a team of experts composed of specialized technicians, engineers and local and international consultants.

2014 :

The Group pursues its development by consolidating its leadership in industry by pursuing its development abroad and by adopting a diversification strategy focused on sectors of vital importance for the future such as agriculture, education, mining & quarries.
Palmedu signed its first achievement: the partnership with the network of Belgian schools in Morocco (EBM), allowing it to accompany the Belgian State in the development of its network of schools in Morocco.

2015 :

First Palmagri exports to France, Germany, Russia and Switzerland.
Palmines launches its quarries business with an initial site for aggregates production, crushing and sand that is already operating in the Benslimane and Benguerir regions.

2016 :

Dolidol launched its polyurethane foam and mattress production unit in Côte d’Ivoire.

2017 :

Creation of Jobelsa Automotive, a joint-venture between Dolidol and the Spanish carmaker Jobelsa.

2018 :

Palmedu delivered the Belgian school of Rabat for the 2018/2019 school year. That same year, UniConfort Morocco Dolidol opened its capital to British investment fund Development Partners International (DPI) for an almost 20% stake

2019 :

The investment fund TANA invests 200 million MAD in the red fruit subsidiary of PALMAGRI, the Agriculture division of the Palmeraie Holding Group

2021 :

Dolidol acquires the Nigerian giant Mouka with an investment of 60 million dollars and thus strengthens its position as the pan-African leader in the polyurethane foam and bedding sector.

2022 :

Palmeraie Holding becomes AFRICORP CONSORTIUM

A SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS MODEL

AFRICORP CONSORTIUM has determined, through its roadmap, four guidelines for its development:

  • Sector diversification,by creating multi-sector centers of excellence with strategic trades for Morocco and the continent.
  • Support the performance of industry, through the strengthening of industrial capacities and the development of professions linked to Morocco’s Industrial Acceleration Plan. The production of automotive components and the launch of a recycling plant to transform used PET plastic bottles into polyester fibers are part of this strategy.
  • To bring out the talents of tomorrow, with particular emphasis on the education and training of the Moroccan and African succession of tomorrow. The partnership with the Belgian Ministry of National Education and the Moroccan Ministry of National Education for the development of Belgian Cooperation Schools in Morocco falls within this framework. Ultimately, the Group aims to develop other school networks.
  • Internationalization is a guarantee of growth and sustainability for AFRICORP CONSORTIUM. The group has become a key player in Africa, in particular with its subsidiary Dolidol, which today has 7 production units in 5 countries, but also, through Africorp Agri, which aims at developing its activities on the continent, similar to the aim of the other business lines

AFRICORP Industry, a growth accelerator

AFRICORP Industry is the division of AFRICORP CONSORTIUM which brings together all of the group’s industrial and distribution activities. In particular, it owns the Dolidol brand, created over 45 years ago and a leader in the polyurethane foam, bedding and interior furnishing industries. As part of its institutionalization project, Dolidol opened its capital to DPI investment fund in October 2018, which allows Dolidol to pursue its development ambitions in accordance with its strategic vision. At the same time, the Industrial Division restructured its subsidiaries and Dolidol became the parent company of Dolidol Ivory Coast, MOUKA, Lematelas.com, Dolicen and Bois&Co.

DOLIDOL,
Pan-African leader in the polyurethane foam and bedding sector

Founded in 1972, Dolidol, a reference brand that enjoys great notoriety for its high quality products and excellent customer service, is accelerating its geographical diversification plan on the African continent; the group has 7 production units in 5 countries including Morocco, Ivory Coast - since 2016 - from which are served border countries in West Africa such as Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea and Liberia , as well as Nigeria following the acquisition of Mouka, a leader in manufacturing of polyurethane foam mattresses, that completes its growth in the region with an addressable market of around 200 million Nigerians. Dolidol’s expansion also extends to East Africa, by acquiring a majority stake in a major operator in Ethiopia, the continent’s second most populated market. Dolidol is also in the process of acquiring an operator in Uganda, which would allow it to serve neighboring countries such as Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.

A versatile player

Bois&Co, a subsidiary dedicated to industrial wood carpentry, technical carpentry and kitchens, manufactures a multitude of items for construction companies and the largest developers in the real estate sector. Since 2017, Bois&Co supplies major hotel chains, hospitals, universities, distribution networks as well as various real estate projects in several African countries.

Now Bois&Co is the leading manufacturer of doors, kitchens, cupboards of construction companies, and hotel and hospital, administrative, university and hospitals in Africa.

Dolicen is the subsidiary specialized in the manufacturing of recycled PET products, polyester staple fibers and non-woven geotextile. The company has signed an investment agreement of 200 million dirhams as part of the industrial development plan supported by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Green and Digital Economy

AFRICORP Agri,
high value-added agriculture

The creation of AFRICORP Agri is part of the diversification and investment strategy of AFRICORP CONSORTIUM which targets key sectors of the national economy, with a huge socio-economic impact such as agriculture.

AFRICORP Agri aims at being a major player in this sector and thus supporting the new “Green Generation” strategy, with objective of doubling the country’s agricultural GDP between 2020 and 2030 to 250 billion dirhams.

Launched in 2014, this agricultural division of AFRICORP CONSORTIUM has a large land base and a expert team of specialized technicians, engineers, local and foreign consultants.

AFRICORP Agri’s vision is fully in line with the group’s strategy to meet Morocco’s new challenges in terms of competitivity and the conquest of new markets. It contributes to this national objective by developing segments with high potential for added value such as berries, date palms and pome rosacea (pears and apples).

AFRIFRUIT,
Fruit of Africa

Afrifruit is the subsidiary specialized in the production and development of berries - Raspberry, Blueberry and Blackberry - in the regions of Agadir, in the South of Morocco, and Moulay Bousselham, in the North, totaling more than 400 Ha of greenhouses, Afrifruit has been the leading exporter for two years of berries in Morocco, which in turn rose in 2023 in 4th place worldwide as an exporter by dethroning the United States of America.

Since September 2019, Afrifruit has welcomed Tana Africa Capital (TANA), a pan-African investment holding company resulting from the joint venture between the South African Family Office Mary Oppenheimer Daughters and Temasek Holding, the investment arm of Singapore.

AFRICORP Edu,
builder of the schools of the future

AFRICORP Edu has had the ambition, since its inception, to contribute to the qualitative and quantitative strengthening of education in Morocco. To this end, it offers services related to the development and management of educational infrastructure, training, teaching and extracurricular activities. .

AFRICORP Edu made its first steps within the framework of the partnership with the network of Belgian schools in Morocco (EBM). AFRICORP Edu supports this institution in the development of a quality school offer. It thus concretized the two Belgian Schools of Casablanca, and the Belgian School of Rabat.

The Belgian Schools are part of the teaching program of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Morocco, defined and framed by the cooperation agreement bilateral agreement signed on May 21, 2014 between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Belgium.

AFRICORP Edu will soon extend its network to Tangier and Marrakech, and eventually in sub-Saharan Africa

AFRICORP Mining,
stakeholder in the development of the Moroccan subsoil

AFRICORP Mining was created in 2014 to take part in the development of the Moroccan subsoil, in support of the Strategy for the Development of the National Mining Sector excluding phosphate by 2030. As a reminder, this national strategy targets a turnover of 15 billion dirhams by 2025. In addition, it aims to double the number of jobs generated by the sector and to multiply by 10 the volume of investments in mining exploration and research.

AFRICORP Mining will thus make it possible, together with other players in the sector, to insert the country into the global value chain. AFRICORP Mining has 3 copper mines including 2 in Talsint and one in the region d’Argana through its subsidiary Merija and 10 aggregate quarries, crushing and technical fine sand mainly for miners, cement works, concrete plants, roads and the masters of works of art in different regions of Morocco through its subsidiary Granal

GRANAL,
The reference operator in quarry exploitation

Granal, a subsidiary of AFRICORP Mining, mining and quarrying division of AFRICORP CONSORTIUM, started its activity in 2014 with a first site in BENSLIMANE for the production of aggregates and washed sand. The company now operates 10 deposits including 2 managed on behalf, in particular for Managem company.

Since its creation, GRANAL has been committed to the sustainable development of the regions where it operates, by adopting a CSR policy based on 3 axes :
  1. -Environmental protection by reducing discharges by 50% and recycling more than 90% of wastewater.
  2. -Development of societal commitment: education, sports and social well-being.
  3. -Promote the employment of the local population. .
With the objective of being present throughout the national territory, Granal aims to consolidate its activity through the development of new sites (Casablanca, Larache, Agadir, Tetouan, etc.), and thus approach its customers in the main economic basins of the Kingdom.

MERIJA,
Catalyst of mining potential

AFRICORP Mining through its subsidiary Merija, owns 3 mines copper including 2 in Talsint and one in the Argana region. The recovery of the material is done using the flotation process.

Like Granal, Merija has adopted a CSR policy by carrying out constant actions in favor of the local population, through, recruiting in the neighboring villages, as well as the equipment of a well with solar panels and an extraction pump for the farmers of the «MERIJA FOUKANIYA village» to reinforce the watering of a total area of 80 hectares.

Dolidol

Partner of the continent’s industrial development

Dolidol is accelerating its geographical diversification plan in the African continent :
With 7 production units today in 5 countries including Morocco and the Ivory Coast where it has been present since 2016 and from where it serves neighboring countries in the West African region. the West such as Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea and Liberia.
In 2021, Dolidol acquires the Nigerian giant Mouka and comes complete its growth in the region with an addressable market of approximately 200 million Nigerians. The expansion of Dolidol also extends to East Africa, by entering the majority in the capital of a major operator in Ethiopia, the second most populated market on the continent. Dolidol is also in the process of acquiring an operator in Uganda, which would allow it to serve the countries borders such as Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.
These major investments in Africa boost the exchange of experience and know-how between Morocco and the countries of the Continent. The other objective of the project concerns the stable creation of jobs and the strengthening of the industrial strategy of the countries of the continent.

CSR

A corporate citizen committed to noble causes


AFRICORP CONSORTIUM has been involved for many years in the implementation of social actions in favor of vulnerable populations. This commitment is part of the Group’s vocation, enshrined in its values and disseminated among all members of the AFRICORP CONSORTIUM community.

In this context, Dolidol has pursued its societal approach by committing to combating school drop-outs in rural areas. About fifty employees participated in the “Solidarity Climb” program during which they provided supplies and support to the “Dar Talib” boarding school in the village of Tabant. This boarding school, which provides free accommodation and food for 162 students between 12 and 18 years of age, received a donation of 162 mattresses. Prior to this event, a call for donations was initiated involving the 2,400 employees of AFRICORP Industry .

In previous years, Dolidol has also carried out numerous social actions.
  • In 2017, launch of a medical coverage program for the company’s distributors and upholsterers. Dolidol distributes its products throughout Morocco through a network of some 1,000 dealers and upholsterers.
  • In 2016, combating school drop-outs in collaboration with the Sanady Foundation for the benefit of operators’ children. Through this initiative, Dolidol has strengthened its ties with its employees and contributed to supporting education, a cause of national mobilization, by engaging with workers.
  • Also in 2016, the “NoujoumDolidol” program promoted the talents of employees by organizing a convention and producing a hymn and a video clip celebrating Dolidol.
  • In 2015, the company’s 1,400 employees celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Green March at the Dolidol industrial complex.
  • Also, in 2015 Dolidol entered into a partnership with the “Bahri Dima Clean” association, which provided 150 Dolidol employees, accompanied by their children, with the opportunity to clean up Aïn Diab beach. This action was topped off with educational activities to raise awareness about the environment.
  • In 2014, some 34 Dolidol employees raised the company’s flag to the top of Toubkal, the highest summit of Morocco. This action allowed participants to show their solidarity through this challenge.

AFRICORP Mining , the Mines and Quarries division, has also been committed since its creation to the sustainable development of the regions where it operates, by adopting a CSR policy revolving around the protection of the environment, the development of societal commitment: education, sports and social welfare and also by promoting the employment of the local population.
